About Rock & Rut

The Rock and Rut Mountain Bike Club hit the ground running with humble beginnings in 1999, founded by a few mountain bike enthusiasts, growing to over a hundred members over the years.

Our vision is to bring the sport of mountain biking to all ages, genders, social classes and fitness levels throughout the country of Namibia. Camaraderie, adventure and fun are at the forefront of our values and mission, and all our events are built around these.

For the technical gurus, our XC Series offers the perfect opportunity to drop and jump, climb and bump their ways through fun trails which are mostly single track. But don’t worry, amateurs are also most welcome to try out their new skills and bikes and gain confidence.

For the downhill gang, our Funduro Series is a great event of fast, hair-whipping downhill racing, with easy uphill grinding all the way to the top again. There’s always enough time to enjoy the spectacular views, the nature, and catch your breath before the next adrenaline rush downhill.

Our Otjihavera Event draws teams from all over the country and beyond and is very popular amongst the serious riders. After three hard days of racing up some proper climbs and raving about the vibe afterwards, many leave with memories and new friendships.
